IT’S NICE WHEN WE ARE WANTED ALL WEEK LONG. In the disco world people tend to want you more over the weekend than during the week, so it is nice when we get some midweek bookings. On Wednesday night I was back at Tetleys Brewery Wharf for my regular disco date for people with special needs. This is one of the most rewarding functions I do and once again I played everything from the Birdy Song to ACDC. The schools have broken up for half term and we had a couple of school discos out on Thursday, Simon attended the one at Upton Primary School in Pontefract and as always the kids didn’t disappoint me at Corpus Christi School in Leeds. Another end of term disco for me last night was at the Old Crosslians Rugby Club in Halifax where once again the kids enthusiasm knew no bounds, watching them and listening to them singing along to ‘Anaconda’ and ‘Rude’ tells me that pop music is as important as it ever was. At the time of writing we currently have 8 functions out tonight but we are the last minute bookings specialists so as always on a Saturday I expect further enquiries. Tonight Garry is doing the wedding at the Hotel Campanile Bradford, Alan is back at the Red Lion Alverthorpe, Richard is at the Red Lion Gleadless Road Sheffield and Alan is at the Highgate House Hotel also in Sheffield. I am at the Goals Soccer Centre in Leeds for a 30th where the birthday girl has chosen all of the music, it is to be hoped that her guests have a similar taste in music or it could be an empty dance floor.
