Ask them if Gen Idiagbon was with him at Sandhurst, teaching him discipline? Go read reports of his teachers, supervisors and classmates in Sandhurst, as well as other military institutions in India and the United States. Ask them if Gen Idiagbon was with him teaching him discipline as Governor of Borno State of Nigeria? Go read reports of Federal Executive Council meetings, the Cabinet Office and Supreme Military Headquarters. Go read the views of his Army Chief of Staff, General T.Y Danjuma and that of Brigadier YarAdua. Ask them if Gen Idiagbon was with him as Nigerias Minister of Petroleum? Go to NNPC, and read about his performance. How the refineries he built and others he laid foundations for still remain the only ones existing in Nigeria today, not minding billions of dollars received by Mr Jonathan but could not build even one refinery nor maintain the already existing ones. Ask them if Gen Idiagbon also followed him to the 3rd Armoued Division, and instructed him on how to chase away invading Chadian troops from Nigeria? After which his guardian Angel, General Idiagbon showed him how to chase away Maitesine from northern Nigeria? Ask them if Gen Idiagbon stayed with him at No 49, Aiguobasimwhen Avenue, GRA Benin City, where he was detained for no reason, no charges brought against him for doing the right thing... yet he refused to be cowed or broken by his solitary confinement for over 3 years? Ask them if Gen Idiagbon was with him at PTF, where he went beyond his briefs to put in place a parallel government, to bring succour to the people…without administrative personnel and policy making machinery of a government ministry, a traditional parastatal or a state or even local government! All he had was his enthusiasm, fortitude, sense of rightness and justice, sense of duty and patriotism…. and he again performed a miracle. In sufficient measure, he demonstrated that you really dont need all the panoply of office, you dont need all the machinery of state to perform. The fundamental thing you need is an unyielding sense of service, unbreakable determination to confront challenges frontally, unwavering sense of discipline and commitment to demonstrate to your subordinates that they have a leader with whom they can go to war with and emerge victorious. A leader of character and quality, honesty and forthrightness, willingness to contribute unswervingly to the good of his people, for the benefit of mankind and the glory of God. Maybe it takes this kind of a leader to attract a kind of subordinate and associate partner that Gen Idiagbon was. If so, it again marks Gen Buharis quality as a man of character as a soldier, competence as an administrator and effectiveness as a politician. Maybe this is what the PDP is not about and never will be. Maybe this is something we can never expect of Dr (?) Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan in 100 years Thank you.
