Ibex climbing holds would like to announce its collaboration with what is possibly the biggest factory in the world devoted exclusively to the construction of climbing holds. After a tour of the factory and its facilities and many days of discussion on site, we at Ibex were absolutely convinced to move on and outsource our production. This is not a decision we have taken lightly. Having ensured that none of the technical aspects would be sacrificed, we also found that most aspects would be vastly improved. Specifically: • Even better materials. The factory is devoted to the production of climbing holds, so they are in a position to purchase huge quantities of better materials at better prices, which means that without having to increase the price of the final product, superior materials will increase the life expectancy and provide a better texture .It also gives us the opportunity to design hollow backs with only 7mm thickness (!!) with no sacrifice to the strength of the hold. • Even better pouring procedure. Pouring will no longer be made on vibrating tables but instead in pressure chambers thus minimizing trapped air bubbles. As a result the holds strength will be maximized and it guarantees an even surface texture. • Better post curing. All holds will be fired in a furnace so that they will be cured before they leave the factory thus saving a delay of at least 8 days on curing. • Even better washer. The innovative character of our washer in that it remains a dual washer made of stainless steel is maintained, however the new improved design enables it to be used for polyurethane holds with better results. • New logo. Our new logo has changed slightly. It is still simple and recognizable, but now it has a more finger friendly texture. • All RAL colors These are just a few of the technical improvements, which were the main incentive that led us to the decision to outsource our production. Ibex remains in the climbing hold industry precisely because of our ability to be honest and adapt to the demands and the ongoing development of our field .We think that by doing research for new materials and new shapes, sculpt, mould, make reproductions, pack and ship, we are only going to end up making cuts on research and quality. By outsourcing the production we now will be able to focus on the most creative aspect of the whole procedure.
