To assume that a man alone can choose the ideas and laws for his nation is fantastical thinking. This man went and did his duty. Now he was struck down by a former soldier with a tortured mind, but that was not his defense in court just his certified treatment assessment. If a man goes to war and does his duty that man is not my enemy. To me he is to be treated well in captivity. When he is not captive and down range he has the right and the responsibility to defend himself and take my life and that of a comrade if need be. But if he drops his weapon or waves a white flag of surrender then by the code of warriors I should and you should do everything to return him to his family at the cessation of the conflict. We have to all stop vilify the common man who is no more than a conscript!
