Icelandic football (soccer) fans are absolutely furious today after the Icelandic football association launched the sale of tickets to the Iceland-Croatia game (the first game to determine whether Iceland goes to the World Cup) at 4 am this morning. By 7.30 this morning they were all sold out. Rumours are flying fast and furious that this was done so that a select few could grab all the tickets, and that this was advertised in closed Facebook groups and suchlike. Apparently there were only around 5,000 tickets that went on sale to the commoners - the rest were reserved for Croatian supporters, Icelandic sponsors, the media and various guests. The Icelandic football association has been caught out in various dirty dealings in the past, so I certainly wouldnt put it past them. But still, what a nasty trick. UGH.
