Id like to defend the look of the animation in last nights episode of Cosmos. Not everything is Disney. Not everything is Pixar. This was different, limited, minimal. It may not be your aesthetic, but thought and work was put into it. It was purposely designed to separate from the hyper-real 3D segments, a bridge between the classic illuminated manuscript and modern, photo-realistic sensibilities. TV critics are showing their ignorance of the animation medium this morning.
