I know people asked me when I was about to leave for one of my last trips where I was going. I told them it was a mystery. Well I went to Tijuana to train with Diana! . First Id like to thank Gaby for giving me the opportunity to dance with Diana. During a hard time when I didnt know what to do, she took the time to speak to me and encourage me not to give up. She allowed to come train with one of her amazing pro dancers, Diana Ramirez. While I was in Tijuama, she made sure I was well taken care of and helped with the choreo as much as she could. Thanks for taking care of me! I am so grateful to have met you. Gaby is a phenomenal dancer, but even with all her fame, she remains humble, caring, and focused on her career. Its so difficult to find this combination. She is also one of the few people who like to give people opportunities that others never give. And I truly appreciate all the opportunities shes given me and all Alma Franchise teams. This truly is the BEST franchise team and Im excited for all the new additions coming in January! . Thanks to Sergio for taking time out of his busy schedule to create a fabulous choreography for us. He even got stuck at the border, missed his flight, then flew to Oklahoma for less than 24 hours the next day just to make the choreography . I was so grateful he gave us this time. Thanks for all the help with my leading technique and fixing the choreo. Thanks for all the hospitality and introducing me to cool things like Mexican hot dogs and cool movie theaters even when you were tired after being in the studio all day long. And for letting me train a bit with your semipro team. Both you and Gaby! Ill never forget my Tijuana adventures. . Id like to extend a big thanks to Diana Ramirez. . Thanks to Mr. BaZouka himself for being a nice livingroom mate. Our convos were super fun and you are good company. Ill never forget our border adventures in a car running on empty, with a 3.5 hour border line wait, and not making it to the airport on time! Thank goodness I have Global entry now! . Thanks so much Kate Linkous. Your training and coaching has helped me so much in my dancing! I really appreciate all the time you spent helping me clean not only my choreo, but my basics! And thanks for all the time youve spent giving me advice as well. I really appreciate you taking time out of your very busy schedule to talk to me and help me. . Thanks so much to Patsy and Darren for giving me the opportunity to train in their studio, teach classes there, run teams there, and have our fundraiser socials. Without their support and encouragement, none of what we have accomplished in Oklahoma could have been possible. It is because of these socials, that we are able to bring headliners to teach our small dance community. . And thanks to Ken Sprous for taking time out of his busy schedule to teach me tricks as well as my team. Cant wait to keep training with you. I want to be able to lift more by next year! . Id also like to thank the most important people in MY LIFE! My mom, dad, and baby brother. My mom has always supported everything Ive ever tried and/or accomplished. When I was in competitive cheer, she came to every cheer camp, game, gymnastics lesson, and national competition in Orlando. And when Gaby came to Oklahoma and put us all on the World Latin Dance Cup diet, my mom cooked and/or prepped all of our meals so we could train. I have the best mom in the whole world! So of course both my mom and dad were at the competition to cheer me on and make sure I was confident and ready. It was great to have family there. And thanks to my baby brother, Eric Rodriguez, for all his love and support and for fixing a piece of my music very last minute so we could compete with awesome music. I LOVE MY FAMILY! . Thanks to Srini for taking care of my birds and my apartment while I was gone. And to Monique for taking care of my birds too! Both of you all took a huge stress off my shoulders when I had to go out of town! . And thanks to Fernando, Jesus, Marquita, Lee, Monique, BJ, Liliya, and Aletha for all your support during my journey. My directors bring so much joy in my life with their passion for dance and maturity to do their jobs well! And they are just such fabulous friends! And thanks to Aletha for her encouraging messages, especially since she knows the pressure of competition. And thanks to Fernando, Liliya, Diana, Jesus, and Micah for constantly messaging me AND my mom throughout the competition to keep up with results and sending encouraging messages. . Thanks to all the dance communities for sending me encouraging messages! It has been a stressful, joyful, and amazing journey! . And last, but definitely not least, Id like to thank Albert Torres and all the judges and staff who worked the World Latin Dance Cup event. I just started becoming a small promoter hosting headliners and socials and it is SO MUCH WORK. Just by looking at the size of this event, the venue, the decorations, the judges, lady who constantly collects judges score papers, photographer, videographer, television, registration, music orgabzier, trophies, medals, people to give the trophies and medals, organizing divisions based on registration numbers, social dancing, sound system, tvs for the audience to see, bringing a stage. I just cant even begin to imagine how much work and planning it takes to put on an event this size. Albert and his staff did a phenomenal job! . ALMA LATINA EXITO! #WLDC2014
