Id like to share a story with you that makes me so proud to be a part of the rescue community...about six months ago, we posted the first photo of three little poodles - Celie, Munchkin & Apple with their beloved owner. The owner had passed away and one of her daughters had asked us to find a new home for her beloved poodles together. You see Apple is blind and used the sound of the other twos tags jingling to know where to go. The daughter had offers to take the younger little black ones, but no one wanted Apple and she couldnt separate them. The daughter had two big dogs of her own who wouldnt accept the three tiny poodles who were terrified of them. It wasnt a good situation, but Julie was determined to find an answer for her mothers beloved poodles. Julie contacted us and we began to try to help. Thats where the Facebook Angels came in. Yes, there are Angels all around and Facebook helped us find a couple. We posted the photo and got a few leads, but nothing seemed just right. A sister (another daughter of the lady) was keeping the dogs and for some reason brought them to the local kill shelter. The shelter contacted Creole Poodle Rescue and we immediately recognized the three and said we would rescue them. In the meantime, the daughter who had contacted us found out about what had happened, contacted the shelter, contacted us and began to work with us to save her mothers beloved poodles. She went and got them; and we republished the story. More Angels came and another rescue person name Jan shared the photo and story with her friend, Melanie. Melanie said she would take them all together! The two ladies contacted Creole Poodle Rescue and we all began working with Julie to make sure it was a good fit and make arrangements for them to all meet (Julie and Melanie live three states apart). After it was all worked out, Julie drove the little poodles to Melanie. The two remain in contact and it has worked out wonderfully for the three little poodles. It has been about 6 months. This week was Julies moms birthday. I got a surprise present at the P.O. Box - a nice cup, a journal, a note and a photo of the two ladies and three poodles! I was totally surprised and blown away! I called Julie and we caught up on everything. The three poodles have a wonderful home and actually Melanie found out that Apple can have vision correcting surgery and loves her so much that she is planning on having it done so that Apple can see! Julies mom would be so happy! I know this is a long story, but it was long and happy. I had to share it with yall because its people like you who love animals that make miracles like this one happen. The networking that happened saved them. Celie, Munchkin & Apple have a happy life because we didnt give up. :-)
