Id like to suggest something that would provide a leisure facility for anyone to use without much funding needed. I put the idea to Copeland Council some years ago and they seemed keen but nothing came of it. Theres a park in Lancaster that has some orienteering routes. You can get a map and different routes have different posts marked that you have to find, you then take down the letter on the post to prove you found it. There are different routes of different lengths and difficulties. I think the same could be done in Castle Park including the wooded bits. Groups could download the map off the internet, and it could be used by primary schools right up to elderly groups, groups can choose whether to run or walk as suit them.
