Id like to think that Im man enough to stand tall and admit when Im wrong; at least Ive always tried. The statement I made defending the small children sent here from other countries still stands. However, theres a twist. Most minor children coming here from Central and South American countries are between the age of 14 and 17 and many have been found to have ties to gangs in their country of origin. The statistics estimate around 85% of these to be of that age. Once again the media reports are skewed, to be polite, and we have been duped into believing that toddlers and newborns were being shipped in. We cannot keep letting people into this country unchecked. The reason we have borders and laws to enforce them is to screen out disease, criminal behavior and possible ties with terrorist networks. This is not a humanitarian action as first reported but an invasion. An invasion perpetrated and given life by our own president; putting at risk the health, welfare, defense and financial stability of the country he swore that he would defend and protect. By twisting a law passed by George Bush to prevent human trafficking he has in essence created his own amnesty program without a shot being fired or a bill being signed. Yes I still believe that we have the moral obligation to take care of the very smallest and most helpless of these but all others need to be loaded up and sent back ASAP; that being our second priority just behind closing down the borders.
