Id rather go through my life not even worrying about it. You think God would create us to spend our lives shackled with the worries of persecution? Or just have the strength of mind as an intelligent being to enjoy your short life for what it is, assumption is the mother of all f**k ups and assuming what might happen next, what God expects you to do or behave like is nothing but fabricating something that hasnt happened and potentially never will. Not everything needs an answer, not everything has a purpose. There doesnt have to be an afterlife to give you a sense of hope. Dont worry about death, because if there is nothing after your gone all that time you spent worrying you could of spent cherishing. Dont think of tomorrow, think of now, dont waste the precious years you have, go home, look at your kids and ask yourself if you would prefer them to grasp and treasure every memory they create and value their life for what it is, without the worry of what will happen to them. When you reach the end of your tunnel, and no one is waiting for you would you grieve that your childrens children may spend years of their life devoted to an idea, a hope which was created by humans thousands of years ago to give people a sense of purpose and control. If god punishes me for not believing and he/she would rather I spend my life tied to a set of beliefs that apparently define the person I am, then he deserves no praise or worship. If I had a divine purpose to create something as beautiful as life I certainly wouldnt expect them to worship me. Id expect them to make the most of the gift of life and just be a decent, compassionate people, who is self aware enough to realize that what comes next is irrelevant. Why be sentient beings when we deny ourselves of freewill. I dont refuse to believe in an afterlife or God. I refuse to believe if any exist in any religion this is what they would want from us.
