Idealist by nature, I thought when I was young O so many years ago - TopicsExpress

Idealist by nature, I thought when I was young O so many years ago that the future would be bright back then Star Trek was the big SciFi show in which the future is very bright, indeed. There is no poverty, racism, pollution, war and humans are doing what we should be doing, exploring space. This reflected very accurately a social scene characterized by optimism of an America at its pinnacle. I thought Jetpacks were a given for the future, a certainty. But then Nixon happened and the Vietnam war happened and it went down hill from there and with Reagan the real destruction of America began in earnest under the insidious auspices of deregulation and small government and my all time favorite, trickle down economics. Simultaneously, our military might steadily increased in inverse relationship to our economic might and this was no accident as our resources were shifted or as I like to put it: our flesh and bones were transmogrified into the cold metal of the military machine that now covers the face of the earth, under the earth, the seas and under the seas and the air and even into space itself while in 2014 my America still has no Jetpacks but we do have something unknown in my youth - street people in legions across the land. And there is no end in sight as this inverse correlation between negative economic growth and positive military growth has gone into hyper-drive since the false flag attack of 9-11. Terrorists are almost never seen in America yet our nation has turned itself inside out in response to them. Cops murder far more innocent citizens than terrorists ever did. Lack of medical care now available to all people in all first world countries across the globe murders more citizens than terrorists ever did. Our infrastructure nationwide literally crumbles underfoot and it is not addressed at all while we continue to pound that war drum. Dont get me wrong, I do believe in terrorists. America has spent vast amounts of our resources creating them over many long decades so we would always have an excuse to keep building up that military industrial complex. Its just that from where I sit politicians have visited far more terror upon us than the hoards of Muslim Terrorists that are suppose to hate us so much for our freedoms. So now I see a viable Jetpack and think, too little, too late, thanks for nothing.
