Idina Menzel finalizes divorce ! Idina Menzel apparently finalized her divorce in secret last month. The Frozen star married actor Taye Diggs in January 2003 and they have five-year-old son Walker Nathaniel together. In 2013 they announced their separation, but papers were not immediately filed. However, TMZ now reports the pair secretly finalized proceedings on December 3 last year. The website claims to have obtained court documents that show no action was taken until November 2014, when Taye filed the divorce petition in New York. Taking their time may have allowed them to discuss issues such as child custody and the dividing of assets, as the divorce was finalized by the next month. According to sources, the split has been amicable and the couple are dedicated to raising their son together. Its been a rocky start to 2015 for Idina, who was heavily criticized for her performance of Frozens Let It Go track on New Years Eve. During her stint on ABC show Dick Clarks New Years Rockin Eve, the 43-year-old received some comments that claimed she didnt manage to hit all of the tricky songs notes. However, the star remained strong and took to Twitter to defend herself. She posted a picture of a quote shed previously given during an interview. There are about three million notes in a two-and-a-half-hour musical; being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to realize that if Im hitting 75 per cent of them, Im succeeding, it reads. Performing isnt only about the acrobatics and the high notes: its staying in the moment, connecting with the audience in an authentic way, and making yourself real to them through the music. I am more than the notes I hit, and thats how I try to approach my life. You cant get it all right all the time, but you can try your best.
