If God has said Let there be light then it wasnt 13 billion years ago when the Universe was born. One way to look at it is this- Light, as we mostly know it, wasnt born when the first photon came into existence, but only when the first bundle of neurons of some primitive brain received the photons, and decided to interpret this form of energy as being light. This interpretation was the second, and more truer, birth of light. Light, as we see it, is created entirely by our brains. The photons never directly reach your brain, which is forever locked in the darkness of your skull. Real light is not colourful or bright or blinding or dim or illuminating. Real light is just different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. It is the brain which does the translation from the language of reality into the language of consciousness. It is the brain which decides to interpret the differing wavelengths as colours. Red, blue, green, and all colours exist only because there are brains to give existence to them. Doesnt it give an immense sense of wonder to just dwell on this thought? (Imagine the brain filled with amazement at something that it effortlessly does but just doesnt know it.) Also, same is the case with everything else as well- our hearing, taste, smell, touch, everything. The Universe is created a second time within our brain.
