If I was to advise Cord, I would have asked them not to hold a rally in Machakos today for several reasons. One being that the people of Machakos might be so fatigued to attend two rallies consecutively just to listen to the same old speakers. Even in my house I don’t eat githeri today and tomorrow. They should have reserved energy for tomorrow. Which brings me to something different. Before the start of the rallies, Raila in a Citizen TV interview promised that they would be very different. I even remember posting in praise of that strategy. He said in all the rallies, the Cord old faces would be sitting down to listen to the real ordinary people on the ground expound the issues as they want them discussed at the dialogue table. That has not happened. In each of these rallies, it’s the old Muthama, Orengo, Wetangula, Jakoyo Midowo, Khalwale…just regurgitating what we have heard countless times since last year.
