If I was to comment on how to reduce psv road accidents in Kenya: 1. drivers - over 35yrs - over 7yrs experience - qualified from recognized driving school - sober - knows to read and wright - strict to traffic rules and regulations - respect to the public 2. vehicle - road worthy - updated service report - updated traffic report - updated insurance report - clean - updated general vehicle service/repairs 3. service - 5 days a week working days - 1 day a week check up - 1 day a week rest - at least 12 hrs drive a day 4. owners - be updated about vehicle condition - pay drivers well - genuine spares - regular general service - employ qualified and experienced drivers - set working days and hours - strict to the rules 5. traffic police - no bribery - always on duty - day and night shift - qualified and experienced - no compromise to law breakers - daily report - well paid - regular transfers - sue and sack corrupt - traffic hotline to public - highway patrol/monitoring units - highway patrol ambulance unit - public/drivers traffic civil education 6. passengers - aboard from selected areas - aboard vehicles in good condition - be patient - study driver behavior - report any suspicion - alight wen not satisfied with vehicle/driver 7. roads - good roads - well marked - traffic signs - traffic lights - road blocks - not congested - quick breakdown services - road cctv cameras - clear roads 8. public - respect traffic rules/regulations - report accidents - report suspected vehicles/drivers
