If LGUs dont allow us to cut trees, bring the road elsewhere. Ah ok. 1. You should have planned this since it is a national road. 2. You should have complied with the law on cutting trees. And these are old NATIONAL laws which NATIONAL agencies are under greater obligation to comply with and set an example. 3. You are undermining the leadership of PNoy since his flagship environmental program is the National Greening Program - its all implied there. 4. Yes, bring the road elsewhere, but return our taxes. I assure you we can maintain those roads better while obeying laws and mobilising local support. You are just stewards of national resources. Also, we pay your salaries and you are supposed to serve your BOSS, ah forget it, just be more respectful of our sentiments. 5. LGUs are elected by the people while DPWH are unelectable until they retire for miraculous reasons. 6. We know the lay of the land just as you lay your hands. Dont start a war with LGUs. Your mandate is just a privilege to serve the people, by our leave and forbearance. LGUs have duties to serve. Dont treat us like an obstacle to hurdle, LGUs are designed as partners of the NG agencies. We are allies for development but we can not be your accomplice in destroying the environment, moreso in violating the law.
