If Lockheed Martin was able to crack this nut, this is an amazing breakthrough. Not only for energy, but also for preventing nuclear proliferation. Imagine planes, trains, ships, and one day perhaps automobiles being propelled by efficient and clean energy. Imagine the cost of electricity plummeting. I need to re-listen to the DotNetRocks nuclear geekout podcasts again to refresh my memory, but this seems like a very big deal based on what I recall.
