If a Christian TV channel or a Christian Missionary Organisation raises funds, they can definitely announce their need and raise funds for the same. But it is totally wrong to use Bible verses out-of context to emotionally lure people to give money to them. I saw in Blessing TV how certain Bible passages were abused to emotionally make people give money to them. The following three examples were used. ( 1. A young boy gave 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. So you also give 2. A man gave his house for last supper. So you also give 3. A man carried the cross for Jesus. So You also give) More over people use the Bible verses Give and it shall be given; Do not rob God; Bring your tithes and offerings to the storehouse. All these Bible verses talk about giving to the needy and not to the greedy and they are ripped away out-of-context. Instead of spending so much time to twist the Bible verse and making people to give money for them, these people should actually start believing in miracles. They do not believe in the providence of God and the manner in which he uses his children to support such ministries. But instead of resting and trusting in God,the new age organisations have sought to raise funds by misusing the scriptures, the glory of God has left them long ago and they operate in flesh. Ichabod is the right word to describe many ministries. Instead of supporting these ministries, do help your neighbour who is in need, give clothing to the man who is on the streets and do not say No to the needy widow on the roadside.
