If a chicken had the self-awareness to pose the dilemma of which came first: itself or the egg; it would not be able to arrive at any valuable conclusions apart from the fundamental truth that the chicken owes its existence to the rest of its species. If humans had sufficient self-awareness of the ramifications of occluding the true self with some ascribed ego, we too may someday understand that the only reason we can all say "I am because we are" is because to say that we can all say "we are because we are" seems too self-referential to beckon the implications of the meaning.
