If a child dreamed of becoming something other than what society intended, or being more than they are, they would go to college for their future...and indebt themselves for the rest of their lives as well as bankrupt the U.S. taxpayers in the process. Then, you would have people with the capacity of grocery baggers holding high tech degrees simply because they passed tests despite not absorbing the knowledge and the nuances. Then, you would see China and nations that put full emphasis on blue collar labor overtake the respective nation in every single way. "Be more than you are" and "be all that you can be" are the two conflicting adages of our time. They represent two distinct trains of thought. One is founded in dreams for those who sleep while the other is founded in reality for those who are awake.
