If a farmer clears their field of all the weeds that have sprung - TopicsExpress

If a farmer clears their field of all the weeds that have sprung up, can they now celebrate a job well done? Once theyve dug the grooves and spread their fertilizer can they bring all of the workers together and proclaim success? After the seed has been spread and covered up, is it time to kick back and relax? When the plants have grown and the fruit has ripened is it time to kick off a festival? What would happen after the completion of any one of these steps if the farmer decided to take a vacation and travel abroad for a while? The work of Gods kingdom is like the many steps a farmer must go through to produce their crops. Each step is important and must be followed by the next one, or else the field will regress into an unfruitful state. The groundwork must be completed so that all of the bad elements are removed. Future areas of growth must be prepared so that nourishment is available and a structure is established. The seeds must be planted, the sparks of knowledge that will grow into commitment and forward movement must be laid in their proper place. Time must be devoted to the work at hand so that the sparks grow into roaring flames. Only then, when the fruits of our labor have ripened, can we take the fruit off of the trees and enjoy their fresh taste and nourishment for our bodies. Only then can the fruit be used in great feasts because we followed the example set by our great Farmer in Heaven. By preparing the way and guiding the growth of the people we can see the fruits of the Spirit grow in the lives of the people weve devoted our time to serving. Our service to God by guiding the growth of others can yield wondrous fruit that inspires even more to seek the presence of God in their lives. Just like a farmers plantation, there are many tasks to be completed. Many people are involved in different areas and each one of them is critical to the success of the fruit produced. Each one of us has a role to play in the service for Gods kingdom. Were not required to know in intricacies of every operation, but only be committed to our assigned task. If you are struggling to find your place, pray to God, talk to your church leaders, and wait with an open heart and listening ears. Its time for each of us to step up and join in Gods work so that His love is shared to all and His message of hope, grace, and mercy reaches the hearts of every soul in need. - Thoughts from Psalm 128
