If a product is more expensive than its competition, it cant drive - TopicsExpress

If a product is more expensive than its competition, it cant drive the price of its competition lower. Clean energy, which isnt the case for wind energy that kills more birds and bats in a year than all of the oil spills in history combined, costs more to produce electricity than conventional fossil fuels. Forcing the more expensive energy on a population will increase the prices for the consumers (aka the rest of us). Germany is the leading country in green energy policies, and Germans have seen their energy prices skyrocket to 3xs what we pay for our energy. Forget about money, its just paper. Think in terms of the resources money represents. Prices are based on availability, or supply of the resource and the demand for the resource. More supply lowers prices, more demand raises prices. The government cant control the availability of resources in nature to make the costs lower, all they can control is the demand through laws that restrict choices, and since if given a choice people at large tend to make the most economic choice, limiting the choices of the consumer invariably lead to an increase in prices overall. Where do we see higher prices and less availability and choices over time? Energy, education, food, health care, and anywhere else that the government has strong controls because those industries are too important to be left to the free market. Where do you see lower prices and more availability and choices? Cell phones, tvs, pcs, and any other industry the government sees as a luxury that they dont take control of. Theyre working on it though. Stop looking for a savior to control the people you dont agree with. Start thinking for yourself and respecting everyone elses rights.
