If a storm is producing a tornado the public needs to be made aware of it regardless of the type tornado or how it was formed. The general public is not concerned with tornado genisis they are concerned with their safety and the amount of time they have to react and seek shelter. The media needs to focus on their primary mission which is to inform the public of the impending danger, it is not their mission during a severe weather event to openly question the NWS and their warnings or to try to teach the public complex meteorology.
