If an industry was killing a planet, who would know? 16 of the 17 national US laboratories (including Los Alamos) are contractor-operated, these are among the only labs capable of telling the truth of Nuclear waste like Fukushima has shared with the planet. Can we talk about corporate welfare and how the inventions that drive their profits are paid for by me and you? This industry is insidious and at the top of the technology chain across the globe and it is Dupont, GE and all those companies and names and their inbred LLCs that drive conspiracies and their deniers. There ilk is the largest contributors to political campaigns so the laws written by our representatives over the many decades let them do this with impunity and cover. Top Secret my ass, it is science and has been pieced together by enough people to know there is great harm. If that harm is denied then you are being lied to right up front. The science is clear that this industry causes harm and their practice shows they will use every tool including science, threats and actions to deceive and defer until all the profits are gone. They will abandon a mine, a facility or a nation as allowed and escape the costs for their harm and willfully pass it on to generations of taxpayers, if there is any left to pay. Spend some time reviewing Chernobyl and Fukushima, there is no good in that quest and the true costs which you will be hard put to find are staggering.
