If any elected representative wants to negate the fight we are in with common core give them this article. It does not matter who is sitting in the governor seat....CO is NOT backing off!!!! We will reclaim our schools and do what is best for our students! We will hold the local school boards and the State Board of Ed accountable to their duties and authority. It is time that all of us citizenry look at who is running for these positions....are they running for political gain or to ACTUALLY work on fixing our education system so that our students can go into the world prepared and most importantly...KNOWLEDGEABLE?! Who is exploiting our students for a profit? Students = human capital in todays mentality and current reform. Who are we going to place on these boards who will stand AGAINST this tyranny?!?! It is time WE take control and place people who are driven by the right convictions....get passed partisan conventional wisdom so that the real work can begin!!!!!! The CD 5 vacancy committee has an important job in a few weeks of choosing a person to fill Paul Lundeens seat. Pray first and foremost that they do what is right and NOT what is political!!!! Know the candidates and what they stand for then email any of these committee members you might know. Be vocal in saying what you expect should be in this replacement and what you want to see happen at the State Board level! You do not have to be from Congressional District 5 to voice your opinions and concerns. This board represents the State!!!! Write your op eds in your local papers. Tell your local boards to raise their voice of concern. It will take all of us to defeat Common Core....not one bill....not one legislator....not one candidate. There is too much work that one person or idea cannot do it alone!!! (Look at Indiana and Oklahoma for example...lets learn by what they did not do).
