If anyone uses Linux or Mac OS X...type this command on the terminal to tell if your system is affected by the Shellshock exploit: env x=() { :;}; echo vulnerable bash -c echo this is a test If your system is affected, the results will say vulnerable this is a test If your system is not affected, it will say bash: warning: x: ignoring function definition attempt bash: error importing function definition for `x this is a test Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, Red Hat, and Fedora already issued patches so youll not be affected by the exploit. If you are running OS X or Linux distros other than Debian, CentOS, Red Hat, Fedora, and Ubuntu; keep an eye on your online usage, backup your sensitive data, keep your software updated, and keep an eye on your system and hope for an update to fix this bug. Windows users; there is nothing to worry about and for iOS and Android users, the Shellshock exploit does not affect these operating systems because there are restrictions on bash for iOS and Android unless if its jailbroken. Anyways...always be safe online and change your passwords to a stronger and harder one to prevent unauthorized access and use common sense with your computer all the time.
