If computers, or more specifically software, functioned the way it was expected to work, or promised to work, then I would not have had a job for the past 14 years. (At least not one that paid as well.) Never put your full trust in technology. If it did not make mistakes then there are armies of technical support people who would be doing something else today. Remember that fact as the the bureaucracies of national security rely more and more upon computerized technology (all controlled by buggy software) to monitor and even control your life.
