If it hasnt happened already, days are likely coming when your children will be forced to face the inevitable dark clouds of life. Heartbreaking disappointments. Devastating failures, Unexpected bad news. Confusion, anxiety, and stress. ...these moments afford parents the ideal opportunity to display one of the most cherished characteristics in life: compassion. If we pass over their pain without offering an ear or any help, then our kids will not likely feel welcome later on when matters get more serious. Compassion is simply choosing to feel sincerely concerned and sympathetic because of the heavy burden another person is under, then being willing to do something about it. Its being the tender hands of Jesus. Its wrapping your arms around them instead of wringing their necks. Its knowing when to step in and rescue instead of leaving them in a ditch. Its the beautiful healing of consolation. Day 14- Love is Compassionate, The Love Dare for Parents.
