If it is a possibility that a nuclear accident (with the Higgs - TopicsExpress

If it is a possibility that a nuclear accident (with the Higgs field) could trigger the end of the universe, and if alien civilizations (eg., see Tralfamadorians link below) exist in abundance throughout space and time. Then unless we are the leading civilization, then you would expect the universe to have already had this accident. Then logically either: a) its not a possibility; b) we are either the leading or the singular technological civilization in the universe; or c) some snooping pangalactic agency intervenes to prevent dumbass universal self destruction. My sense of the issue is it is not a possibility in this instance. But, the question remains, are there yet to be uncovered/confirmed experiments that could bugger up the universe? My sense of that issue is that out of the vast unknown potentiality there may well be. So, perhaps we are alone, or the most advanced, or there is a cosmic censor. What do you think? PS: theres another possibility... that the universe has had this accident in the past, and the tsunami wave of space-time extinction has not yet hit us.
