If it were mandatory for peoples representatives to live austere - TopicsExpress

If it were mandatory for peoples representatives to live austere lives, as if/in entering a time of ascetic worship, for their periods of serving in office, vowing to engage in no money-making ventures throughout: all given modest living quarters, provided secure but non-ostentatious conveyance facilities, and wages sufficient for decent sustenance, with a recommended option of communal meals over which they could deliberate on how best to serve the peoples, which would be their shared collective and individual overwhelming primary concern -- I wonder how many currently lording over us would ever run for office again, and I wish this could be: this is how I believe it should be; such a collective of governors, legislators and public servants who would embrace such a mission and devote themselves in such an ascetic manner would surely transform the state of their nation in the best interest of the peoples, with addressing the needs and concerns of the most deprived and wretched their topmost priority. Is this too much to ask? Would they not be revered, earning so much love and so many prayers: are those not real riches, would that not constitute more than enough, ultimate, reward and recompense? #FromRulersToPublicServants #AsceticGovernanceNote
