If it were possible to draw any positives from all the atrocities facing the Muslims, it would be the sense of unity and solidarity among Muslims for the plight of their brothers and sisters around the world. They may have divided the Muslims into countries and territories and imposed borders to separate us, but it is clear from the unified responses that our hearts do not recognise these borders nor has it diminished our concern for our brothers and sisters in Islam. The issues we are facing are not Palestinian issues or Syrian issues or Burmese issues. These are issues of the whole ummah. Allah SWT says “And it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you”. The greater the oppression facing the ummah, the closer the victory of Allah. While we certainly dislike what is happening, it may be a means of purification. May Allah purify the ummah from those holding it back and return the honour to Islam and Muslims, ameen.
