If meat was always served like this, from when we were kids, I suspect there would be many more vegetarians on the planet.. It is far too easy for people to simply repress what actually is on their plates and stop making the connection. Is not really standing behind our choices what integrity is about? If you can look a cute baby calf in the eyes and then kill it, butcher it and eat it, you clearly are carnivorous and it would seem you have made your choice. But if you see a sweet thinking, feeling innocent being that loves its mother, who feels such joy when being let on on pasture that it prances and leaps in the air.. and who deserves to be alive just as much as you do - then why does does that image not stay in your mind when a piece of that same baby lies calf slaughtered on your plate? This denial is something I may never understand.. Perhaps if it were a matter of survival, but this is only about gratifying our taste buds! If you know you are lying to yourself, if your choices are making others suffer, perhaps now is the perfect time to stop? Apart from everything else, you will respect yourself more.
