If recent television and print reports about the Member of Parliament for Tall Pines arent enough to demonstrate the awareness that warrants a closer examination on the subject of violence against women in the Bahamas, perhaps it means that we have become too accustomed, numbed and insensitive to not have a pulse. I am absolutely disgusted by how egregious some people have become, Mr. Millers choice of analogy against women is more than disengeneous as it showed and proved his rank outlook of how his power trip and dominance smacks of irreversible and full bloom psychosis. Making rounds on radio talk shows asking women apologies is not good enough; in fact it has become bigger than just an apology. It’s about passing legislation on Domestic Violence to protect the largest voting block in this country, it’s about treating Domestic Violence as an equitable major crime comparable to Murder in the first degree. There are many requirements to change the current criminal system in allowance of women to feel more safe and protected any and everywhere they may be. Be that as it may, I believe as a society we need to educate our children, both boys and girls that violence against women and rape is not right regardless to its many facets and faces. Point Blank... Period!.
