If the issues of ethnicity and religion are not well handled, it will precipitate the disintegration of the country called Nigeria. Today, it was reported in The Nation where Sultan of Sokoto Alh Saad Abubakar raised an alarm that muslims were marginalized in the selection of Confab members. Sometime in January this yr, Dr. Chukwu Emeka Ezeife lamented that the major element in the emergence of APC is religion. Hear him CPC headed by Buhari, ACN headed by yoruba formed a merger and its National Chairman is a muslim, National Secretary is a muslim, National Publicity Secretary is a muslim, virtually all national officers are muslims. In Nigeria, we often place much emphasis on these two factors rather than competence, credibility and integrity. It has become a trademark in Nigerian politics for pple to either whip-up religion or ethnic sentiments when pple are not ready to listen to or buy their opinion. I dont think the problem with us really in this country is religion nor ethnic but certain cabal who have hold all of us to ransom for years. These cabal ironically permeates all the known ethnic groups in this country. I think we need to play down on ethnicity and religion for us to attain greatness.
