If the last week of tax season was a car race, this would be the final lap; if it were a guest on The Tonight Show, it would be in the green room. If it were a batter in a baseball game, it would be on deck; if it were the last line in a song, it would be the Coda. If it was the last chapter in a book, it would be the epilogue; if it were a horse race, this would be the home stretch. If it were near death, this would be its swan song; if it were a camp fire, it would be down to embers. If it dyed its hair, its roots would be showing. And, if it were a chrysalis, it would be about to burst forth as a butterfly. But, tax season is not any of these things. The last week of tax season comes as a time of frenetic energy for those of us who earn out living from it...and as a time of angst for those yet to tend to the task at hand. Unlike the month of March that comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, tax season comes in with a whimper and goes out with a bang. Im ready.
