If the layers of earth are millions of years worth of sedimentary - TopicsExpress

If the layers of earth are millions of years worth of sedimentary deposition, then why do we find trees literally all over the world buried and fossilized in the standing vertical position. Trees do not grow for millions of years, as far as we know, from studying the very oldest living trees today which are no more than 8,000 years old. Trees rot and fall over when they die. They do not stand upright for millions of years waiting to be buried over millions of years. Another explanation could be they grew downward looking for sunlight. But it is an established fact that these trees were buried by a flood. Several floods would be wishful thinking if compared to a single rapid flood that buried them at the same time frame. If there are trees connecting multiple layers, then there is no logical way to explain how they could be millions of years old.
