If there is a theme question that keeps emerging throughout 2014 as I continue praying to become the person God made me to be, its this: What is my art?? What has God called me to be or do with my life? When do I feel His pleasure most as I work? Ideally, our careers are more than jobs but canvasses that God has blessed us with to produce some sort of art. For some, we are writers. Others are painters, teachers, journalists, parents, musicians...but no matter our job, these activities are really our canvasses to create or develop and ultimately expresses our love, in turn becoming a form of worship and gratitude for God. My art has many forms. Some days its writing. Other days it is harder to describe what brings my heart. This past month, I launched IJMs new Newsroom and with the help of many colleagues have been experimenting with new ways of storytelling...bringing challenging stories in remote areas to life in new ways. Its not just a job...i believe its my art...and I have enjoyed talking to numerous people this year to discover what is also their life art too.
