If there is any doubt in anyone’s mind that there is a force far - TopicsExpress

If there is any doubt in anyone’s mind that there is a force far greater than any of us at work here, that doubt should disappear upon reading this post. Until today, I had no idea who the 10 people are that received a test kit to test as a possible donor to the love of my life. I still don’t know 9 of them, but I was contacted by one today, and it is a message and phone conversation that I will never, ever forget. Her message read: Dear Kristi, I have good news and bad news. Im not able to donate for Raleigh. It breaks my heart. I am so sorry. The good news, though, is that during my testing, they found a life-threatening blood disorder I never knew I had. Im beginning treatment this afternoon after getting the results yesterday. I was told without treatment, I have six months to a year to live and had no idea. No symptoms or anything. I am so very sorry I cant be the donor to save your husbands life, especially with the love of my life being a LEO, too. The positive in this is that even though I cant help Raleigh, he may very well have saved my life by me going through testing for him. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers and send love. Thank you for sharing your story; its whats going to keep me alive. You are a family of angels and Ill forever owe you my life. Please dont hesitate to contact me if you should ever need anything I can help with. God is good all the time and He will make a way! Love and blessings, (I’ll call her my new forever friend) This precious woman was willing to give one of her kidneys to Raleigh and received completely unexpected, scary, life-changing news, yet she apologized that she couldn’t donate her kidney. I couldn’t just respond in a message, and she gave me her phone number. She was actually diagnosed with two blood disorders (thrombocytopenia and Factor V) and will almost certainly require multiple bone marrow transplants and a blood thinning regimen for the rest of her lifetime. The blood panels used when being tested to donate an organ aren’t routine, and these disorders could have gone undetected until it was too late. We both cried, shared things you sometimes wouldn’t share with a friend you’d known for years, and ended our phone call with one of the most beautiful prayers I’ve ever heard. She has a 4 hour follow up appointment at a hospital tomorrow and will be calling me when she’s done. To sum this post up, this is a testimony that God has His hands ALL OVER this process and those involved, both directly and indirectly!!!! This story is no longer solely “our” story! Of the thousands of people that called Emory to be tested as a donor for my husband, Emory chose to send kits out to groups of 10. Was it a coincidence that 1 of those 10 in the very first group had potentially fatal blood disorders that she was completely unaware of but absolutely needed to be aware of? NOT AT ALL!!! This is God’s miraculous work continuing for all of us to witness! Right now, she is reading this. She finds it hard to admit, but she’s scared. She’s scared of the unknown, but she is strong, and I do mean STRONG in her faith. Friend, God has this! You KNOW He does! To those reading this post, please lift her in prayer knowing that God’s work is never done, and He will provide!
