If this ever happens again Ray, the fans who stick by you now will probably NEVER forgive you. Dont ever let it happen again, mistake or accident. For now, I dont believe Ray should be made an example of, and Goodell handled this horribly. For the record, no one is condoning domestic violence. No one. Any idiot who does condone domestic violence on women should be moved away from society. But to condemn a mans entire life permanently because of one mistake is a mistake that we as a people cannot afford to make. We cannot be the pot calling the kettle here... hes 27 and this is his first major mistake. Taking away his life and never giving him a change to repent and conquer his demons here is not only a mistake, but its unjust treatment considering that the legal system has already punished him as a first time offender, and there has never been double jeopardy in the NFL before. Why now? Why does it start with Ray Rice? That is not fair. This was an incompetent decision on behalf of Mr. Goodell and it sets a dangerous precedent for how these types of events will be handled in the future. Im all for changing the policies pertaining to how this offenses will be dealt with in the NFL. Make them even more strict if need be. But dont start that policy with someone who has never been held to it, and dont try him for the same crime twice. Goodell is a football commissioner, not a Supreme Court justice.
