If true, this IS good news! Be more active in your protest. Obviously if you have money in these slavemaker banks, get it out. But then, get a Citibank credit card, max it out and then stop paying on it. Write them and let them know that they need to pay back all the bailout money, plus interest - from their own funds, not other public monies. That they need to give back all the houses that theyve stolen from people. That they need to stop charging extortion interest rates and fees. And that they need to start paying their fair share of taxes on the billions in profits that they make every year. When they have done these things, then you will consider your balance (minus any fees and interest over 3%) a debt. Until then, not one penny. I did this with Bank of America, Citibank and JP Morgan Chase (who unfortunately caught on a lowered my limits before I could get much from them). So yes, I have ruined credit (I never even carried a balance on a card before I did this, so it was indeed a radical shift), but - WHAT IS CREDIT? It is you towing the line SO willingly that they know you always will. It is you supporting the system of slavery created intentionally by the banking industry to steal from the poor for hoarding by the rich. Weve let them consolidate power to such a degree that yes - it will feel risky to take it back, but - PLEASE have the courage to really LOOK at what it means to keep supporting the status quo. If we unite and support each other, its a slam dunk for our side (the non-corporate people). Feel what you stand for in the world, and make your economic life consistent with that.
