If voting in India becomes compulsory, then the lazy Hindus will have no option but to go out and vote. If that happens, BJP will rule for the next 100 years :D { Some rough calculations: Typically, out of 100 voters, 80 would be Hindus. But among these 80 Hindus, lets say 20 are dalits & 10 are seculars. These might never vote for BJP. So, you are left with 50 Hindus (whereas the 20 dalits, 10 seculars & the 20 non-Hindus will vote for their respective favorites, causing vote splitting). These 50 Hindus always support BJP but were too lazy to go out and vote. Sometimes, 25 of them would go and vote for BJP. Sometimes, 30 of them would go and vote for BJP. Now if there is compulsory voting, these 50 Hindus will give 50 votes to BJP. Imagine, 50 out of 100 votes for BJP. In this election, just 31% of the votes led to clear majority. So, 50% votes can even result in 2/3rd majority!! }
