If we are serious about winning the war on terrorism, we must invest young people and intelligence... After my visit to Mogadishu early this year ,I have come out with a new strategy to eliminate Al-shabaab completely.. Post from 02/12/2014 To make Mogadishu safe from terrorist attack! My advice to the new appointed National Security minister is; Mogadishu has 18 Counties And 53 major intersections: Check point search for suspected vehicles at every intersection and put at least 20 new next-generation traffic cameras and give extra care at any of those intersections. Put more feet on street: Build a new police sub-stations for every 100 houses, put at least 20 Uniformed patrol and line officers: One Detectives for each sub-station To respond crime scenes and conduct follow-up investigations. One Sergeants for each sub-station: To make sure the officers meet their daily responsibilities. One Lieutenant for each sub-station: To direct all police activity in an area during a watch, or shift. One Deputy Police Chief for every county: To oversee all day-to-day and operational functions of the department. Intelligence Intelligence Intelligence: Two CID agents for every sub-station: To do investigating, interviewing, and collecting data and evidence, and work closely with informants and other local and federal law enforcement agencies. Community policing is essential: Recognizing that police rarely can solve public safety problems alone, encourages interactive partnerships with relevant stakeholders. The range of potential partners is large and these partnerships can be used to accomplish the two interrelated goals of developing solutions to problems through collaborative problem solving and improving public trust. The public should play a role in prioritizing public safety problems. Last but not least Media: The media represent a powerful mechanism by which to communicate with the community. They can assist with publicizing community concerns and available solutions, such as services from government or community agencies or new laws or codes that will be enforced. In addition, the media can have a significant impact on public perceptions of the police, crime problems, and fear of crime. Youre probably wondering Where will the budget to put more cops on the streets and new next generation traffic cameras will come from. Oh well, 1: All Mogadishu major stakeholders will have to pay 5% of their profit 2: You Diaspora Folks my friends, just imagine if every time you send money to your family back home, you pay $1 extra to support this cause! #Togetheryeswecan!
