If we are the body of Christ then we are also the immune system, what does the immune system do? The immune system is a system of biological structures and processes within an organism that protects against disease. To function properly, an immune system must detect a wide variety of agents, known as pathogens, from viruses to parasitic worms and distinguish them from the organisms own healthy tissue... Lets think about this. What happens if the immune system cant distinguish healthy tissue and healthy cells, from viruses? You get something called an autoimmune disorder. Potentially this can cause pain to the body, it can cause sickness, it can cause death. If we attack the healthy part of our body, we kill the body. If we do not attack the sin, if we do not attack the addiction, the habits by supporting and CURING the tissue of the body in other words the people that make up the body of Christ, instead of destroying it... You see a body that attacks itself can not thrive, it can not function. People are not parasitic worms, people are not viruses, they are not diseases, they are not pathogens. Sins are. Stop defining people by their struggles, their sins. If you are part of the immune system you PROTECT the body of Christ, your brothers and sisters of Christ. You do not diagnose them as their disease. You help cure and heal them. If youre incapable of that, youre the disorder, if you cant see past a persons flaws to show them the love of Christ instead of hatred-filled glances, youre no more help to the body than a virus itself.
