If we have food in our fridge, clothes on our back, a roof over our head and a place to sleep, we are probably richer than seventy five percent of the world. If we have money in the bank, our wallet or purse and some spare change, we are apparently among the top eight percent of the world’s wealthy. If we woke up this morning with more health than illness, we are more blessed than the million or so people who will not survive this week. If we have never experienced the danger of battle, the agony of imprisonment or torture, or the horrible pangs of starvation, then we are luckier than 500 million people alive and suffering. If you can read this message you are more fortunate than three billion people in the world who cannot read it at all. At midnight tonight while being surrounded by friends, family, lots of smiles fun and laughter, I will do my best to first think of them, and lost, loved ones too while raising my glass and toasting in the new one. This is my final post of the year so may as well take the time to also wish you a brilliant time, a prosperous year and Ill see the rest of you on the other side.
