If we want to take appropriate action to fix something that is not - TopicsExpress

If we want to take appropriate action to fix something that is not working properly, then it is necessary to understand, precisely, the nature of the problem. Obviously, if our diagnosis is inaccurate, then a solution is unlikely to work. That is why despite hundreds and hundreds of bill passed each term by lawmakers things seem to be getting worse for island residents and not better. The most important impediment to understanding and resolving any problem or conflict is our fear of knowing the truth. We spend a lot of our time trying to deal with problems and conflicts by deluding ourself about the cause and what it will take to truly address the problems. Despite the fact that fear often tells us that some problems are too monumental and there is no way forward, in fact there are always sensible, straightforward solutions to virtually all of our problems. While this can mean that we need to change our own behavior, most of the change we need is in our power and would require little effort to accomplish. We need genuinely honest leadership today. You can make that happen. Our island is at a crossroads. We MUST have leadership that is unafraid to take responsibility for making changes and set an example and inspire others to act too. If we continue to wait for others to take the lead or wait for someone else to do the job for us, we - the people - will only find the experience disempowering. This can only reinforce our deepest fears that the problems we face in this government, and in our community, cannot be solved. And I dont believe that is true. The real truth is, we can make a difference if we try! I humbly ask for your support to get the message of change out to the people of Guam - and to make change a reality this year. Please, all I ask is for one of your votes so that together we can make a change that matters. For all of us, for all the people that politics has left behind. Lets do this!
