If were going to insist on everything in the Bible being literal, - TopicsExpress

If were going to insist on everything in the Bible being literal, historical, then were also going to be bound by those very same and literal walls [boxes] weve just erected, that weve just placed God who is Spirit, in to. For example, if we were to calculate the [literal] amount of food required to feed every animal on the earth, and in pairs [x 2], elephants, cattle, hippos, etc, since they literally have to eat...and eat, and eat...every last one of them, each and every day...for an entire year, then it would never literally fit on the ark, not even close, would take an entire fleet of Arks, an Arkmada. :) Those stories are depicting spiritual truths for us, friends, as Jesus taught metaphorically, allegorically, and may we begin to hear them as such, then they are beautiful, insightful, and thats why Peter said those flood waters symbolized (1 Pet 3:19-21) baptism and the result of [Noahs] flood is a clear conscience for us [how is that possible if its a literal, historical flood?] and that only eight souls survived [eight is the number of circumcision, Hebrew males were circumcised on the eighth day, is outside the created # of days, is eternal, speaks to circumcision of the heart kind, the spiritual Man and nature, ie Christ in us is the only One who survives our baptism/immersion where our old man and nature in Adam is drowned out... literally.
