If yall are up to being out on a Sunday night, well, my friend you have proven that your soul didnt really die when you hit 30, and you are qualified now to know about this: there is this jam at Irishtown Bar. This is one of those places that surprise you every time you show up. Its the perfect kind of non dive with that sought after comfy slight dive feel to it and an amazing array of good to great whiskeys. Jammers are always stellar, familiar, top echelon musicians that know how to help me tie a rope around my voice, piss it off enough to start it growling, and drag it up from the third-floor-underground basement, letting me croon some, the kind of blues that feels like a raw cry. The kind of cryin that you wail and sob until it feels good. That down town- git down-old school heartbroken-fools blues. Not everybody plays blues here on Sundays, mostly just when i am on the stage, but you can always count on these universal laws at the Sunday jam at Irishtown: the funk is always dirty and the rock always hard.
