If you are a young person between the ages of 15 and 26 and are living in the Townsville region, this may be of interest for you. Grants of up to $10000 are available to help young people either study through a scholarship program, or who are wanting to start up their own business. Philip Leong was a local business man in the Townsville Region who was a pioneer of self service supermarkets and made a major contribution to the commercial and economic development of the Townsville region over a period of more than 60 years. As part of his legacy, the Philip Leong Youth Programme was created and each year, it gives young people in Townsville the chance to achieve and discover their true potential, whether it be furthering their experience through study, or venturing into the world of business.
