If you are going to shoot a firearm, you must have the proper training first and foremost by an instructor who is certified! This especially holds true for pistols. They are the most dangerous in the hands of inexperienced people! The barrel being so short, it is easy to point it in the wrong direction. Most important rule; Your finger should never be on the trigger until the weapon is sighted on the intended safe target and ready to fire at said target! Secondly the barrel should always be pointed in a safe direction whether you think the gun is loaded or not, best to always assume the gun is loaded. Remember, in ny and other states you cannot shoot any pistol that you are not licensed to own. It is against the law in ny and anyone sharing their pistol, if caught will loose their permit!
